Biography of Artist Dan
Fulwiler
Dan Fulwiler was born in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin in 1964. Dan started drawing, painting & sculpting
as a small child. He graduated high school at Washington High in
Germantown, Wisconsin in June 1982.
Most of Dan's work is what he calls 'surreal impressionist
cartoons" and 'posterized portraits."
Dan prefers to paint large works; most of them average four feet
by four feet and his murals are typically ten feet long by eight
feet high. The largest mural he has painted so far measures
seventeen feet long by twelve feet high.
For the most part, Dan is self-taught, relying on books, an
occasional class at the local college, and direction from his
many friends, most of whom are also artists.
Dan cites as his greatest influences Dali, Liechtenstein,
Michelangelo, Bosch, Davinci, Rembrandt, Roger Dean, Storm
Thorgerson, Warhol and Dr. Seuss.
Dan's favorite subjects to paint are trees, fantasy landscapes and faux brick.
As a contractor, Dan is continuing the tradition of his family. For as far back as our records go, our family has always had a painter in it. Our experience and knowledge has been handed down from my great-great-grandfather to my great grandfather to my grandfather to my uncles to me. Our heritage is one of craftsmen who take pride in our work. We believe a painter should be able to competently fulfill any need traditionally performed by a painter, and so, we are expert in many services no longer offered by modern painting companies. Services like drywall and plaster repair, caulking and tuck-pointing, wall-coverings and specialty finishes... trained by German masters in the "old-World" techniques, and trained by the union in the newest methods, Dan Fulwiler is a Painter... in every sense of the word! We can paint one room, a whole house, or even a church! You could say painting is in my blood!
