Trompe L'Oeil Brick, Trompe L'Oeil Wood
Graining, Trompe L'Oeil Murals, Trompe L'Oeil Wrought Iron, Trompe L'Oeil
Cobblestone
(Pronounced: Tromp-Loy')
This is an
expression used by the French, which simply means "to trick the eye".
It is used to describe a "visual joke" and is intended to fool viewers
into believing that what they are looking at is real.
Only when they
come closer to inspect the details, do they realize to their delight that they
have been deceived by the illusion.
Even after the
trick has been discovered, it continues to have the desired effect visually. It
can really open up the room by creating a greater sense of depth and dimension.
