Trompe L'Oeil pronounced
(tromp-loy)
which means
"to fool the eye."

Trompe L'Oeil is an art technique that includes realistic imagery to create an optical illusion. It describes a "visual joke" and is intended to fool viewers into believing that what they are looking at is real.

Trompe L'Oeil are also called "illusion paintings." The depicted objects appear three dimensional, but are actually a two dimensional painting.
Only when people come closer to inspect the details, do they realize to their delight that they have been fooled by the illusion. Even after the illusion has been discovered, it continues to have the desired effect visually. Trompe L'Oeil artists have often created three dimensional scenes using an open doorway, archway or window looking out at a garden or landscape view.

Interior designers appreciate the way it opens up a room. It creates a greater sense of depth and dimension and can also be incorporated into Feng Shui room designs.

Trompe L'Oeil can be used to create illusions of brick, wood, stone, marble, plaster and a myriad of other natural objects.

Faux Marble

Marble is timeless. It's popular in both contemporary and traditional decors.

Real marbles are generally very difficult to match. Painting marble allows for color matching and  enables the artist to enhance nature's product, including the addition of stunning features found in rare marble.
